This page explains what data StillNormal collects and what happens to it. In short: we don’t ask who you are, and we don’t keep your answers on the server; visits are counted by Google Analytics.
Sign-up and email
There is no sign-up on the site. We don’t ask for your name, email or phone number to take a quiz or see a result.
Your answers
Your answers are used only to calculate your result. They are not stored on the server. What is stored is a single counter: how many times each result has come up for each quiz. The counter holds no name, no IP address, no time of completion and no other data about a person. The “How others answered” block is built from it.
While you take a quiz, your answers are kept in your browser (local storage) so you can pick up where you left off if the page closes. Once you finish the quiz, that record is deleted. You can also delete it yourself by clearing the site’s data in your browser settings.
Cookies
The site sets one technical cookie for all visitors: pll_language remembers the language of the site (it is kept for one year). If you rate a quiz with stars, one more cookie appears, rated_post_<quiz number>, which keeps you from rating the same quiz twice (it is kept for five years).
Two more cookies are set by Google Analytics, which counts visits: _ga and _ga_<counter number> (they are kept for two years). They let Google Analytics tell one visitor from another without knowing who that visitor is. There are no advertising cookies on the site.
Quiz ratings
If you rate a quiz, only the sum and the number of ratings for that quiz are saved. Who gave a rating is not saved.
Visit statistics
To understand which quizzes people read and take, the site uses Google Analytics. This service receives the address of the page you open, information about your browser and device, your approximate location (country and city) and two events: a quiz was started and a quiz was completed. Your answers to the questions are not sent to Google Analytics. If you open a result from a link someone shared, the page address contains a short result code, and it reaches Google Analytics together with the address. There is no name, email or phone number in it: we never ask for them.
Google processes this data under its own privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, Google Analytics Opt-out: tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Third-party services
The site’s fonts, images and scripts are loaded from our own server. The one exception is the Google Analytics script described above. There are no ads on the site. Otherwise, data goes to other services only when you take an action:
- the “Share” buttons open the social network or messaging app you choose with a link to the quiz or result; from there, that service’s own rules apply;
- the button that takes you to CoreTypes opens the CoreTypes site; the link carries the name of the quiz and your result, and no data about you;
- the result card image is built right in your browser and is not sent anywhere unless you send it yourself.
A result link contains only a short result code. If the site was opened from a link with advertising campaign tags, those tags may remain in the link you share.
Server logs
Like any website, our server keeps technical request logs. They record the IP address, the browser type and the time of the request. They are needed to run and protect the site, and they are not used to find out who you are.
Changes
If the site starts collecting anything else, this page will be updated before that happens.
